The Casita is a little oasis tucked away in a dense urban neighborhood. This tiny backyard apartment functions as a rentable unit and a guest suite for visiting relatives. The main living area comfortably fits a king size bed, cozy chair, closet and kitchenette. A soaking tub and separate shower add unexpected touches of luxury. Natural light was limited by an adjacent tall apartment building, so we designed high windows and skylights to take full advantage of what was available. The shed roofs define the two main areas of the apartment and provide tall, vaulted ceilings within to maximize height and give the impression of a larger space.
