Situated at the City Center BART plaza entrance, this kiosk provides a quick coffee stop for transit commuters and Oakland’s growing downtown community.  The kiosk is custom fabricated using a repurposed shipping container.  Wood slats wrap around the southeast corner of the container to add warmth against the steel backdrop and to complement the wooden benches sprinkled throughout the plaza.  At a modest, 8’-0” x 10’-0” footprint, this project is the smallest stand-alone structure Shelterwerk has designed.
