HEATHER SANDERS-JACOB

Principal, Architect, AIA, LEED AP

For nearly twenty years, Heather has found joy on two wheels—whether pedaling a bicycle or riding her motorcycle. During the pandemic, however, she traded speed for stillness, turning her attention to gardening and studying Danish. While she may not know the name of a single plant in her yard, she takes genuine pleasure in caring for the small ecosystem that surrounds her Oakland home, shared with her husband, Evan. The two have traveled often to Denmark, where Heather refines her Danish and the pair savor the country’s culture, design, and cuisine alongside dear friends who call it home.

TYLER HUTCHERSON

Associate, Architect, AIA, LEED AP

Tyler brings 18 years of architectural experience to the table, spanning projects from intimate single-family renovations to large-scale educational facilities. This breadth of work has shaped his thoughtful, solutions-driven approach to design. He’s known for being a careful listener and an open observer, always working to translate client needs into spaces that feel greater than the sum of their parts. Tyler earned his Master of Architecture from Tulane University (’08) and holds licenses in Louisiana and California. Originally from Virginia, with a formative stop in New Orleans, he’s been proud to call the Bay Area home since 2016.

When he’s not designing transformative spaces, Tyler can usually be found exploring the Bay Area with his wife and 9-year-old son. Weekend adventures range from hiking trails (both rural and urban) to catching a game, hunting down the best appetizer menus in town, or sneaking in a round of golf. In recent years, he’s been stretching his travels beyond the U.S., with trips to Honduras, Mexico, and French Polynesia — and a much-anticipated visit to the English Isles on the horizon.

DANIEL SANCHEZ

Designer, AIA

Born and raised in the Central Valley, Daniel moved to Oakland in 2002 and has called it home ever since. His passion for the outdoors and public spaces led to a previous career as a park ranger with the National Park Service. His interest in history, art, and design later inspired a career shift to architecture.

Daniel began his higher education at Laney College, where he studied fine art, Latin American studies, carpentry, and architecture. In 2016, he transferred to UC Berkeley to pursue a degree in architecture. After graduating, he briefly worked for an architectural metal fabricator before starting his architecture career in 2019 at Studios Architecture. There, he contributed to several large tech campuses and buildings for Silicon Valley industry leaders.

In 2024, Daniel transitioned to Shelterwerk, where he currently focuses on single-family home renovations, fire restoration and rebuilds, and commercial projects. His work includes conceptual design to developing construction and permit drawings and expediting both building and planning permit approvals.

In his spare time, Daniel enjoys collecting records, listening to music, hiking in the East Bay hills, and woodworking projects.

TERRI GEE

Finance and bookkeeping were never part of Terri’s career plan. As a graduate of San Francisco State University and with a degree in Textiles and Design her interests were in apparel design and manufacturing. After spending over ten years at a brand name denim supplier, she decided to pursue a secondary career as a domestic engineer. While her engineering position was challenging, she found herself wanting to re-enter the work force. She began working part-time in an administrative role at an engineering firm in 2004, and over the years her responsibilities have expanded to include financial duties.

Terri spends much of her time with family, enjoying adventures and watching her grandchildren grow. She enjoys cooking, baking, and reading recipes. Loves binge watching anything that’s interesting. Travels to anywhere where there’s a beach. Loves long drives and long walks.

ANNETTE CASANOVA MAYO

Office Administrator

Annette graduated with an AA in Interior Design & Architecture from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She has 5 years of experience as a retail design consultant. Here, she would create interiors designed for each client’s unique taste and needs- one of which was featured on the company’s YouTube and monthly catalogue.

Annette appreciates attention to detail, often drawing inspiration from the Art Deco and Rococo design styles.

In her free time, Annette chooses to binge watch seasonal tv shows/movies and eat her weight in snacks. During the summer, fall, or any season really, you can catch her at Disneyland enjoying the food and rides. She also spends a majority of her time surrounded by toys, games, and kids (her main job is working at a toy store btw). Don’t get her started on her toy collection…
