HEATHER SANDERS-JACOB

Principal, Architect, AIA, LEED AP

For nearly twenty years, Heather has found joy on two wheels—whether pedaling a bicycle or riding her motorcycle. During the pandemic, however, she traded speed for stillness, turning her attention to gardening and studying Danish. While she may not know the name of a single plant in her yard, she takes genuine pleasure in caring for the small ecosystem that surrounds her Oakland home, shared with her husband, Evan. The two have traveled often to Denmark, where Heather refines her Danish and the pair savor the country’s culture, design, and cuisine alongside dear friends who call it home.

TYLER HUTCHERSON

Associate, Architect, AIA, LEED AP

Tyler brings 18 years of architectural experience to the table, spanning projects from intimate single-family renovations to large-scale educational facilities. This breadth of work has shaped his thoughtful, solutions-driven approach to design. Tyler earned his Master of Architecture from Tulane University (’08) and holds licenses in Louisiana and California. Originally from Virginia, with a formative stop in New Orleans, he’s been proud to call the Bay Area home since 2016. Tyler is known for being a careful listener and an open observer, always working to translate client needs into spaces that feel greater than the sum of their parts.

Associate, Architect, AIA, LEED AP

When he’s not designing transformative spaces, Tyler can usually be found exploring the Bay Area with his wife and 9-year-old son. Weekend adventures range from hiking trails (both rural and urban) to catching a game, hunting down the best appetizer menus in town, or sneaking in a round of golf. In recent years, he’s been stretching his travels beyond the U.S., with trips to Honduras, Mexico, and French Polynesia — and a much-anticipated visit to the English Isles on the horizon.

DANIEL SANCHEZ

Designer, AIA

Daniel began his higher education at a local community college studying fine art, Latin American studies, carpentry, and architecture. He later transferred to UC Berkeley to complete his architecture degree. After graduating, he briefly worked for an architectural metal fabricator before beginning his architecture career in 2019 at Studios Architecture. Daniel joined Shelterwerk in 2024. His responsibilities span conceptual design through construction and permit documentation, as well as navigating building and planning approvals across multiple jurisdictions.

DANIEL SANCHEZ

Designer, AIA

Daniel’s interest extend well beyond the architectural studio. As a child, he helped his father build an addition to their family home, and later watched his mother create custom clothing. This was his initial introduction to creativity, precision, and the value of thoughtful craftsmanship. In high school, he found another creative outlet in stagecraft and set design for theater productions. A love of history, art, and design eventually led him to architecture. In his free time, Daniel enjoys collecting records, listening to music, and working on woodworking projects. He finds balance in both hands on craft and time spent outside, grounding his life in a blend of creativity, curiosity, and connection to the natural world.

DAVID REGINA

Junior Designer

David graduated in 2018 from UC Berkeley with an undergraduate degree in Architecture. He began his career at WRNS Studio in San Francisco working on large offices and higher education buildings. After 3 years working on large scale projects, he decided to pursue his passion in residential architecture with Atelier Jorgensen in Napa, CA. After moving closer to his hometown in San Francisco, he worked with Faulkner Architects. With this experience under his belt, David is skilled in both scales of architecture, allowing himself to grow and bring happiness to a variety of clients.

KRISTIN PUCCINI

Designer, Residential Interiors

Outside of her design work, Kristin enjoys hosting/cooking and regularly organizes supper clubs that celebrate Italian aperitivo culture. She shares her home with two beloved pets: a six-pound Chihuahua named Smudge and a cat named Signor Formaggio. True to her name choice, Kristin always prefers a cheese plate for dessert! A lover of stories behind objects, she often spends weekends thrifting for clothes and unique household finds. She loves live music and once saw Harry Styles perform in both New York and Los Angeles in the same year.

TERRI GEE

Accounting

Finance and bookkeeping were never part of Terri’s career plan. As a graduate pf San Francisco State University with a degree in Textiles & Design, her interests were in apparel design and manufacturing. After spending ten years at a brand name denim supplier, she decided to pursue a secondary career as a domestic engineer. While this position was challenging, she found her self wanting to re-enter the workforce. She began working part-time in an administrative role at an engineering firm in 2004. Over the years her responsibilities have expanded to include financial duties.

TERRI GEE

Accounting

Terri spends much of her time with family, enjoying adventures and watching her grandchildren grow. She enjoys cooking, baking, and reading recipes. Not to mention binge watching her favorite shows. Terri loves, long walk, even longer drives, and traveling anywhere there is a beach.

ANNETTE CASANOVA MAYO

Office Administrator

Annette graduated with an AA in Interior Architecture & Design at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She has five years of experience as a retail design consultant for a well-known furniture company and later a Visual Merchandiser. Even though this role came with great opportunities for creativity and growth, Annette wanted to share her organizational and design skills in a more professional setting. This led her to begin administrative work at Shelterwerk with the occasional interior design prospect.

ANNETTE CASANOVA MAYO

Office Administrator

A jack of all trades, Annette enjoys filling her time with anything from crocheting her own scarves to playing Animal Crossing on her Nintendo Switch for hours on end. She loves to eat… anything really. There is nothing like a little treat at the end (or middle, or beginning) of the day. The biggest thing about her though is her love for fairytales, cuddly things, and little trinkets. It’s no surprise you can find her at her favorite theme park at least twice a year.
